Our goal is for our students to "Leave Your Print" on the world and contribute positively to their communities. We invite families to reach out to us to learn more about the amazing things happening in our school community.

Our History

Raymond Elementary School has a rich history dating back to 1824 when the first schoolhouse, a round log cabin, was built in Liberty Township. Initially led by teachers like William Edgar and Thomas Lapham, the school eventually transitioned to become known as Newton, founded by David Paul in 1838. By 1853, the first official Board of Education convened in a one-room log building in Newton, later renamed Raymond.

In 1951, Liberty Township High School merged with parts of Liberty, Taylor, Allen, and York Townships to form Northwestern High School, a change that continued until the school's annexation to Marysville in 1963. The Class of 1963 marked the final graduation from Northwestern High School as Raymond Elementary School was established. In 1996, new classrooms for 1st grade and Kindergarten, alongside a main floor office, were added, fostering a cohesive learning environment. An extensive expansion in 2001 replaced the 1914 building section with 12 new classrooms, upgraded facilities, and modern amenities. Throughout its evolution, Raymond Elementary School remains proud of its rich history and deep-rooted role in the community.
